What does this fault code mean?
The additive dosing module (ADM) has registered a short circuit to ground in the wiring to the additive pump. The ADM controls the pump, and a short to ground stops it working normally. The fault shows up as the emissions warning lamp, and because the pump sits in the additive tank, the tank may need replacing.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to ground in the wiring to the additive pump
- Damaged additive pump
- Damaged additive dosing module (ADM)
What you can do
- 1Check the connector at the additive tank for damage and moisture
- 2Follow the pump wiring and look for chafing or damaged insulation
- 3Clear the code and check whether it returns
- 4If the code returns with no visible cause, the additive tank may need replacing
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the pump and the module
Symptoms you may notice1
- Emissions warning lamp lit
