What does this fault code mean?
The additive dosing module (ADM) has registered that the vehicle speed signal on the data network is faulty or missing. The signal comes from the brake control module (BCM), so the fault usually starts there. The code cannot be cleared until the fault in the brake control module has been remedied.
Possible causes
- Fault in the brake control module (BCM), which sends the speed signal
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the brake control module (BCM) first and deal with those
- 2Clear the code only after the fault in the brake control module has been fixed, because it cannot be cleared before then
- 3Check the battery and its terminals, since voltage problems can disturb the data network
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the data network and the brake control module
- 5The brake control module is safety-critical – do not work on the brake system yourself, have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice1
- No clear symptoms for the driver
