What does this fault code mean?
The ADM checks its own configuration ID against the one that the CEM broadcasts on the data network. If the IDs do not match, or if communication between the ADM and CEM is broken, the code is set. A used control module with different software can cause this.
Possible causes
- Incorrect CAN configuration ID, for example a used module with other software or hardware fitted
- Open circuit in the CAN wire between the module and the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Find out whether a control module has been replaced, especially a used one, and whether new software was downloaded at the time
- 2Read the codes in the CEM and deal with any communication faults first
- 3Check that the wires between the module and the CEM have no breaks and that the connectors are secure
- 4Have a workshop download the correct software to the module if it does not match the car
- 5Clear the code and check that it does not return
Symptoms you may notice1
- No clear symptoms for the driver
