What does this fault code mean?
The additive dosing module (ADM) compares its own power supply with what the central electronic module (CEM) reports. This code is relevant only when the engine control module has also stored a code for faulty or missing communication with the ADM. Otherwise it does not indicate a fault and can simply be cleared.
Possible causes
- Poor contact, resistance or corrosion at the terminals
- Open circuit in the power supply
- Power supply shorted to ground
- Damaged additive dosing module (ADM)
What you can do
- 1Check whether the engine control module has stored codes for communication with the ADM; if not, the code can be cleared without further action
- 2Check that the battery and its terminals are in good condition
- 3Check the connectors at the ADM for looseness, resistance and corrosion
- 4Check that the power supply and ground connection to the ADM are intact
- 5If the fault persists together with communication faults, have a workshop trace the supply and the module
Symptoms you may notice1
- No clear symptoms for the driver
