What does this fault code mean?
The ADM monitors the additive pump control circuit and has registered either a short to ground in the wiring to the pump or an open circuit. The fault shows up as the emissions warning lamp. The pump sits in the additive tank, so the tank may need replacing if the fault persists.
Possible causes
- Wiring to the additive pump shorted to ground
- Damaged additive pump
- Damaged additive dosing module (ADM)
What you can do
- 1Check the connector at the additive tank for damage and moisture
- 2Follow the pump wiring and look for chafing or damaged insulation
- 3Clear the code and check whether it returns
- 4If the code returns with no visible cause, the additive tank may need replacing
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the pump and the module
