What does this fault code mean?
The AEM has registered a signal that is too low, or a break, on the telemute wire to the radio, and the fault is permanent. Telemute on the radio therefore does not work, meaning the audio is no longer muted when the phone is used. The cause is usually a short to ground in the wire or a faulty radio unit.
Possible causes
- Telemute signal wire to the radio shorted to ground
- Break in the telemute signal wire to the radio
- Faulty radio
What you can do
- 1Follow the telemute wire to the radio and look for chafing or damage
- 2Check the connectors at the radio for oxidation and loose connections
- 3If the fault remains, have a workshop check the radio after the wiring has been checked
