What does this fault code mean?
The AEM has registered a signal that is too high, or an open circuit, on the power supply to the antenna amplifier, and the fault is permanent. This gives poor radio reception. The cause is usually a short to supply voltage in the supply wire, a break in the supply or ground wire, or a faulty antenna amplifier.
Possible causes
- Supply wire to the antenna amplifier shorted to supply voltage
- Break in the supply wire to the antenna amplifier
- Break in the ground wire to the antenna amplifier
- Faulty antenna amplifier
What you can do
- 1Follow the supply and ground wires to the antenna amplifier and look for chafing or damage that could cause a short or a break
- 2Check the connectors at the antenna amplifier for oxidation and loose connections
- 3If the fault remains, have the antenna amplifier replaced by a workshop after checking the wiring
Symptoms you may notice1
- Poor radio reception
