What does this fault code mean?
The audio control module (AUD) has registered too low a signal from the microphone in the interior mirror. This can be caused by the signal wire being shorted to ground, or by the two microphone signal wires being shorted together.
Possible causes
- Signal wire to the microphone shorted to ground
- Short circuit between the two microphone signal wires
- Moisture or damage in the connector at the microphone
What you can do
- 1Check the connector at the microphone in the interior mirror for moisture, damage and corrosion
- 2Make sure the wire is not chafed or pinched against the bodywork
- 3Check the connection at the audio module with diagnostic equipment, as the fault is usually in the wiring
- 4Repair the wiring or replace the microphone, then clear the code
