What does this fault code mean?
The audio control module (AUD) registers too low a signal from the buttons for headphone output 2. This points to a short circuit to ground, between the signal wires, or in the headphone panel, and the buttons for that output then do not work.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to ground in the signal wire between the module and headphone output 2
- Short circuit between the signal wires to headphone output 2
- Short circuit inside the headphone panel, which is then faulty
What you can do
- 1Check the connector to the left headphone panel for damage, moisture and corrosion
- 2Inspect the wiring to the headphone socket for chafing and pinching
- 3Test the buttons on headphone output 2 and compare them with the other outputs
- 4Read the code and check the circuit with diagnostic equipment, replacing the headphone panel if needed
Symptoms you may notice1
- The buttons for the headphone output do not work
