What does this fault code mean?
The audio control module (AUD) registers too low a signal from the buttons for headphone output 4, which is connected to the right headphone panel. This points to a short circuit to ground, between the signal wires or inside the panel itself, so the buttons for that output do not work.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to ground in the signal wire between the module and headphone output 4
- Short circuit between the signal wires to headphone output 4
- Short circuit inside the right headphone panel
What you can do
- 1Check the connector to the right headphone panel for damage, moisture and corrosion
- 2Inspect the wiring to headphone output 4 for chafing and pinching
- 3Check the circuit with diagnostic equipment and replace the headphone panel if the fault lies there
- 4Clear the code only after the fault is repaired and check that the buttons work
