What does this fault code mean?
The audio control module (AUD) has registered an open circuit in the signal wire to the centre loudspeaker. Without a signal there is no sound from that speaker. The code can be read when the audio module is active and is usually caused by a broken wire or a damaged speaker.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire between the centre speaker and the audio module
- Open circuit in the speaker
What you can do
- 1Check the connector at the centre speaker for contact resistance, play and oxidation
- 2Check the connector between the audio module and the centre speaker in the same way
- 3Any tweeter should only be checked visually for oxidation and loose connections, not tested electrically
- 4Have a workshop test and replace the centre speaker or its wiring if the fault remains
