What does this fault code mean?
The audio control module (AUD) checks the signal on the wiring to the front left door loudspeaker. The code is set when the resistance in that circuit is too low, which is most often caused by the two signal wires shorting together. It can be read when the module is active, and the speaker then produces no sound.
Possible causes
- Short circuit between the two signal wires to the speaker
What you can do
- 1Check that the audio system fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Inspect the wiring to the front left door speaker for chafing and pinching, especially where the two wires could have shorted together
- 3Check the connectors at the speaker and at the audio module for looseness and corrosion
- 4Check the speaker and wiring with diagnostic equipment and replace the speaker if it is faulty
Symptoms you may notice1
- No sound from the front left door speaker
