What does this fault code mean?
The audio module (AUD) takes its settings from the vehicle configuration file held in the central electronic module (CEM). The code is set when the local configuration file in the audio module is missing or incorrect.
Possible causes
- Central electronic module (CEM) not correctly configured
- Audio module not intended for this car, for example a used unit with different software or hardware fitted
What you can do
- 1Find out whether the audio module or the central electronic module has recently been replaced, as a used unit may carry the wrong software
- 2Have a workshop download and program the latest software into the audio module with diagnostic equipment
- 3Check that the software download was completed, since an interrupted download can cause the same code
- 4Clear the code only once the correct software is in place, and check that it does not return
