What does this fault code mean?
The code indicates that a software component for CAN communication in the audio module (AUD) is invalid or does not suit the car. At start-up the module compares its settings with the vehicle configuration held in the central electronic module, and the fault is set if the local file is missing or wrong. The whole audio unit may then stop working.
Possible causes
- Central electronic module (CEM) not correctly configured
- Audio module not suited to this car, for example a used unit with different software or hardware
What you can do
- 1Find out whether the audio module has been replaced, since a unit from another car may carry the wrong software
- 2Have a workshop install the correct and latest software in the audio module with diagnostic equipment
- 3Make sure the software download was completed, as an interrupted download can produce the same code
- 4Clear the code only after the correct software is installed, and check that it does not return
