What does this fault code mean?
The audio control module (AUD) checks the signal from the active noise cancellation microphone on the front passenger side. If the signal is too low, most often because the wire is shorted to ground or the microphone wires have shorted together, the code is set. It appears while the module is powered and normally gives no noticeable symptoms.
Possible causes
- Signal wire between the module and the microphone shorted to ground
- Short circuit between the two microphone signal wires
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact and see where they are located in the owner's manual
- 2Inspect the microphone connector and its wiring for damage, moisture and corrosion
- 3Make sure the wiring is not chafed or pinched against the bodywork
- 4Check the microphone and wiring with diagnostic equipment and repair the fault
