What does this fault code mean?
The subwoofer has two speaker elements, SUB 1 and SUB 2, each driven by its own channel. The audio control module (AUD) registers too low a signal on the wiring to element SUB 2, which is most often a short circuit to ground. The code is set while the module is active, and the bass from that element is lost.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to ground in the wiring from element SUB 2 to the audio module
What you can do
- 1Check that the audio system fuses are intact and see where they are located in the owner's manual
- 2Check the connectors at the subwoofer and at the audio module for contact resistance, play and oxidation
- 3Inspect the wiring to the subwoofer for chafing and damage
- 4Read the signal to element SUB 2 with diagnostic equipment and repair the short to ground
