What does this fault code mean?
The audio module (AUD) checks its internal components. The code is set when the local configuration file is missing or incorrect, which happens when a valid file has not been downloaded or the module is damaged. Speakers and headphones may then stop working, or the sound may be muffled.
Possible causes
- No correct local configuration file exists, because it was never downloaded
- Damaged audio control module
What you can do
- 1Check that the audio system fuses are intact and see where they are located in the owner's manual
- 2Have a workshop download new software to the audio module with diagnostic equipment, since the code points to a software fault
- 3If the download does not help, the audio module needs replacing by a workshop
- 4Clear the code only after the download is complete, and check that it does not return
