Show models by year and engine (4)
What does this fault code mean?
The audio module (AUD) compares its own supply voltage with the voltage reported by the central electronic module (CEM). The code is set when the voltage is too high. This is most often because the supply wire is shorted to supply voltage, and the sound may then be weak or absent.
Possible causes
- Supply wire shorted to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Check that the audio system fuses are intact and see where they are located in the owner's manual
- 2Check that the battery and charging system work normally
- 3Inspect the supply wire to the audio module for chafing and damage where it may have touched a live circuit
- 4Measure the supply with diagnostic equipment and repair the short to supply voltage
Symptoms you may notice2
- No sound from the speakers
- Weak or poor sound
