What does this fault code mean?
The audio unit (AUM) has detected an internal fault in its GPS receiver during the self-test that runs when the audio unit starts up. The fault normally lies in a defective audio unit. The map may then show the vehicle in the wrong place, and navigation may stop working.
Possible causes
- Defective audio unit
What you can do
- 1Read and note all stored codes before anything is cleared
- 2Use diagnostic equipment to establish whether the fault is permanent or intermittent
- 3If the code is not stored after a test run, the fault was probably temporary
- 4Replace the audio unit if the fault remains; after replacement it can take a while before GPS signals are received correctly
Symptoms you may notice5
- The map shows the vehicle in the wrong place
- The audio system does not work
