What does this fault code mean?
The audio control module (AUM) checks its configuration identifier against the signal setup from the central electronic module on the CAN network. The fault occurs when the IDs do not match, or when communication with the central electronic module is interrupted. The module then responds to diagnosis but does not work normally on the CAN network.
Possible causes
- Incorrect CAN configuration ID, for example a used audio control module with different software or hardware
- Open circuit in the CAN wiring between the audio control module and the central electronic module
What you can do
- 1If the central electronic module (CEM) holds codes for lost communication, deal with those first
- 2Check the CAN wiring for open circuits and short circuits, and check the connectors
- 3If no other fault is found, have a workshop read and download new software to the audio control module, after agreeing it with the owner
- 4Check after repair that the fault has been cleared
Symptoms you may notice3
- The dimmer control does not work
- The steering wheel radio buttons do not work
- The mute during phone calls does not work
