Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
6 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C30 Electric (2011–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The accessory USB unit (AUU) control module checks its voltage supply and compares it with the voltage at the central electronic module (CEM). When the difference becomes too large the code is set, and then the USB port and devices plugged into it do not work.
Possible causes
- Signal too high because a wire is shorted to supply voltage
- Signal too low because a wire is shorted to ground
- Open circuit in the supply wire
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's handbook or on the fuse box cover
- 2If possible, check that a USB accessory works with the ignition on
- 3Check the supply wire to the module for damage and chafing
- 4Clear the code and see whether it returns; if it remains, have a workshop read the voltage with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice1
- USB accessory does not work
