What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) has registered that the ABS pump motor does not start. The pump motor is needed to build up brake pressure during ABS regulation.
Possible causes
- Poor contact in the connections
- Defective fuse for the pump motor
- Open circuit in the voltage supply to the pump motor
- Open circuit in the pump motor's ground wire
- Defective pump motor
- Fault in the brake control module
What you can do
- 1Check the pump motor fuse in the engine bay relay and fuse box
- 2Check the connectors at the brake control module and the pump motor for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Run the pump motor with diagnostic equipment and check that it starts and runs as it should
- 4The brake system is safety critical: do not work on the hydraulic unit or pump motor yourself; have a workshop repair the fault

- General warning lamp on
- ABS warning lamp on
- ABS and anti-skid do not work
- Stability function does not work
- Traction control does not work and the information lamp is on
