What does this fault code mean?
Applies only to cars fitted with DSTC. The yaw rate sensor, which measures how fast the car rotates about its vertical axis, sits in the AYC sensor and has an offset correction value. The code is set when that correction value is wrong, and the fault is often due to how the sensor is fitted.
Possible causes
- AYC sensor incorrectly fitted
- AYC sensor loose or its bracket bent
- Internal fault in the AYC sensor
- Stability sensor (BSC) incorrectly fitted, loose or with a bent bracket
What you can do
- 1Check that the AYC sensor is firmly fitted and correctly mounted on the bracket under the front passenger seat
- 2Make sure the bracket has not been bent or damaged in some other way, and that the stability sensor (BSC) is secure
- 3Do not replace the brake control module for this code; have a workshop repair the sensor or bracket after fault-finding
- 4The brake system is safety critical: drive carefully until the fault is fixed, as the stability system does not work, and do not work on brake system sensors yourself

- Traction control (TC) and stability control (SC) are disabled
- Active yaw control (AYC) is disabled
- Roll stability control (RSC) is disabled on cars that have it
