What does this fault code mean?
Applies only to cars fitted with DSTC. The lean angle sensor, which is fitted on cars with RSC, measures the car's lean from side to side and is built into the AYC sensor. The code is set when the sensor's offset correction value is wrong, and the fault is most often due to how the AYC sensor is fitted.
Possible causes
- AYC sensor incorrectly fitted
- AYC sensor loose
- Bracket of the AYC sensor bent
- Internal fault in the AYC sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the AYC sensor is firmly fitted and correctly mounted on the bracket under the front passenger seat
- 2Make sure the bracket has not been bent or damaged in some other way
- 3The brake system is safety critical: do not replace the brake control module for this code, and have a workshop repair the sensor or bracket
Symptoms you may notice3
- Anti-spin does not work
- Stability function does not work
- Anti-skid does not work
What the fault can affect2
- Traction control (TC), stability control (SC) and active yaw control (AYC) are disabled
- Roll stability control (RSC) is disabled
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
