What does this fault code mean?
Applies only to cars with all-wheel drive and DSTC. The all-wheel drive control module (DEM) tells the brake control module when all-wheel drive is active, and the brake control module must then not activate the stability function. If the signal from the all-wheel drive module is missing, or shows that all-wheel drive is not working, the code is set.
Possible causes
- Open circuit or short in the CAN wiring
- Damaged all-wheel drive control module (DEM)
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the central electronic module (CEM) and deal with any stored codes there first
- 2Clear the code, wait a moment and check whether it returns
- 3Check the connectors at the brake control module and the all-wheel drive module for contact resistance and oxidation
- 4The brake system is safety critical: have a workshop fault-find the CAN network, do not work on brake-related modules yourself

- Anti-spin does not work
- Stability function does not work
- Anti-skid does not work
- General yellow warning lamp on
What the fault can affect3
- Stability control (SC) is disabled
- Traction control (TC) is disabled, and the TRACS all-wheel drive traction function is blocked without any warning lamp coming on
- Active yaw control (AYC) is disabled
