What does this fault code mean?

The all-wheel drive control module (DEM) tells the brake control module when all-wheel drive is engaged. In that case the brake control module must not activate its stability function. The code is set when the speed difference between the front and rear wheels becomes too large.

    Possible causes

    • Damaged all-wheel drive control module (DEM)
    • Fault in the all-wheel drive system or its related components

    What you can do

    1. 1Read the codes in the central electronic module and the all-wheel drive module, and deal with any codes there first
    2. 2Fault-find the all-wheel drive control module and its related components with diagnostic equipment
    3. 3The brake system is safety critical: do not replace the brake control module for this code, and do not work on the stability system yourself

    Symptoms you may notice4

    • Anti-spin warning lamp on
    • General yellow warning lamp on
    • Anti-spin does not work
    • Stability function does not work

    What the fault can affect2

    • Stability control (SC) is disabled
    • Active yaw control (AYC) is disabled

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
