What does this fault code mean?

The engine control module (ECM) sends a signal over CAN that indicates whether its engine speed signal is correct. The brake control module uses the speed signal when regulating the stability function. The code is set when the engine control module reports that the speed signal is implausible. The fault is engine-related and can be read after the engine has started.

    Possible causes

    • Fault in the engine management system

    What you can do

    1. 1Read the codes in the engine control module and fault-find according to them first
    2. 2Check the engine management system with diagnostic equipment
    3. 3The brake system is safety critical: do not replace the brake control module for this code, and do not work on the stability system yourself

    Symptoms you may notice5

    • Anti-spin warning lamp on
    • General yellow warning lamp on
    • Anti-spin does not work
    • Stability function does not work
    • Anti-skid does not work

    What the fault can affect1

    • Traction control (TC), stability control (SC) and active yaw control (AYC) are disabled
