What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module registers that communication with the AYC sensor is not working. Communication runs over the CAN network, so the fault may lie in the wiring, in the AYC sensor or in the brake control module itself.
Possible causes
- CAN communication wires shorted to each other
- CAN communication wires shorted to ground or supply voltage
- Internal fault in the AYC sensor
- Fault inside the brake control module (BCM)
What you can do
- 1Check the connectors at the brake control module and the AYC sensor for contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Check the wiring between the AYC sensor and the brake control module for short circuits and open circuits
- 3If the code status is intermittent, poor contact has probably been the cause; if the fault remains, have a workshop check it
- 4The brake system is safety critical: do not replace the brake control module unless a workshop has confirmed an internal fault, and drive carefully until the fault is fixed
Symptoms you may notice5
- Anti-spin warning lamp on
- General yellow warning lamp on
- Anti-spin does not work
- Stability function does not work
- Anti-skid does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Traction control (TC), stability control (SC) and active yaw control (AYC) are disabled
