What does this fault code mean?
There are two versions of the AYC sensor, one for two-wheel-drive cars and one for four-wheel-drive cars. If the brake control module finds that an AYC sensor not suited to the car has been fitted, the code is set. The fault is caused by the wrong sensor being fitted, not by the brake control module.
Possible causes
- The wrong AYC sensor is fitted
What you can do
- 1Check that the correct AYC sensor is fitted for the car's drivetrain, and replace it with the right one if not
- 2The brake system is safety critical: do not replace the brake control module for this code, and have a workshop check the sensor
- 3After fitting the correct sensor, check that the fault has cleared and that the stability function works
Symptoms you may notice5
- Anti-spin warning lamp on
- General yellow warning lamp on
- Anti-spin does not work
- Stability function does not work
- Anti-skid does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Traction control (TC), stability control (SC) and active yaw control (AYC) are disabled
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
