What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module sets the code if the voltage to the AYC sensor is outside its reference value, or if the sensor itself has registered an internal fault. The cause may be signals that disturb the sensor, too low a voltage or an internal fault in the AYC sensor.
Possible causes
- Signals that disturb the AYC sensor
- Voltage to the AYC sensor too low
- Internal fault in the AYC sensor
What you can do
- 1Check the connectors at the brake control module and the AYC sensor for contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Read the sensor's current values with diagnostic equipment and compare them with normal values for each sensor
- 3If the voltage is wrong, the control module needs checking; if the voltage is correct, have a workshop check the AYC sensor
- 4The brake system is safety critical: do not replace the brake control module unless a fault is confirmed, and drive carefully until the fault is fixed
Symptoms you may notice5
- General yellow warning lamp on
- Anti-spin does not work
- Stability function does not work
- Anti-skid does not work
- Traction control does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Traction control (TC), stability control (SC) and active yaw control (AYC) are disabled
