What does this fault code mean?
Brake pressure sensors 1 and 2 give the brake control module information about the pressure in the brake system. The code is set when the module judges that the signal from one of the sensors is implausible. The fault may come from a broken earth wire, a fault in the brake circuit or a damaged sensor.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the earth wire
- Fault in the brake circuit
- Defective pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Check the earth wires to the pressure sensors and the brake control module for breaks and corrosion
- 2Read the brake system pressure with diagnostic equipment while the brake pedal is pressed
- 3As the wires can be swapped during fitting, both sensors should be checked
- 4The brake system is safety critical: do not work on the brake system yourself, and have a workshop repair the fault
Symptoms you may notice5
- Anti-spin warning lamp on
- General yellow warning lamp on
- Anti-spin does not work
- Stability function does not work
- Anti-skid does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Traction control (TC), stability control (SC) and active yaw control (AYC) are disabled
