What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module registers that the voltage supply to the AYC sensor is too high or too low. The fault may be due to poor contact, wires that are shorted or broken, an internal fault in the AYC sensor or in the brake control module.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors or connections
- AYC sensor supply wires shorted to ground or supply voltage
- Open circuit in the AYC sensor supply wire
- Internal fault in the AYC sensor
What you can do
- 1Check the connectors at the brake control module and the AYC sensor for contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Check the supply wire to the AYC sensor for breaks and short circuits
- 3Check the supply voltage with diagnostic equipment and replace the AYC sensor if it is faulty
- 4The brake system is safety critical: do not replace the brake control module for this code, and drive carefully until the fault is fixed
Symptoms you may notice5
- Anti-spin warning lamp on
- General yellow warning lamp on
- Anti-spin does not work
- Stability function does not work
- Anti-skid does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Traction control (TC), stability control (SC) and active yaw control (AYC) are disabled
