What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module registers that the stability function has been regulating without a break for too long. The code may be caused by an incorrectly fitted steering wheel, incorrect wheel alignment or a loose sensor, and it can be diagnosed after driving straight ahead.
Possible causes
- Steering wheel incorrectly fitted
- Incorrect wheel alignment
- AYC sensor loose or incorrectly fitted
- Defective AYC sensor
- Stability sensor (BSC) loose or incorrectly fitted
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop visually inspect the front and rear brakes and replace any damaged parts
- 2Check that the steering wheel is correctly fitted and that the front axle alignment is right; have a workshop adjust it if needed
- 3Check that the AYC sensor and the stability sensor are firmly fitted
- 4The brake system is safety critical: do not replace the brake control module for this code, and do not work on the brakes or stability system yourself
Symptoms you may notice5
- Anti-spin warning lamp on
- General yellow warning lamp on
- Anti-spin does not work
- Stability function does not work
- Traction control does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Traction control (TC), stability control (SC) and active yaw control (AYC) are disabled
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
