What does this fault code mean?
The steering angle sensor module (SAS) is initialised by moving the steering wheel a short distance soon after the ignition is switched on. The code is set if the steering angle has not been initialised after a period of driving at higher speed. Initialisation can still be carried out after the code is stored, and the anti-spin warning lamp then goes out.
Possible causes
- Steering angle sensor not initialised after a long period of driving at higher speed
What you can do
- 1Turn the steering wheel to either side to initialise the steering angle sensor; if the anti-spin warning lamp goes out, the fault has been cleared
- 2Clear the code and check whether it returns
- 3If the fault remains, have a workshop read the codes in the steering angle sensor module with diagnostic equipment
- 4The brake system is safety critical: do not replace the brake control module for this code, and drive carefully until the fault is fixed
Symptoms you may notice3
- Anti-spin warning lamp on
- General yellow warning lamp on
- Anti-skid does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Active yaw control (AYC) is disabled
