What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module is delivered calibrated from the factory and checks at start-up that its calibration data is correct. The code is set when the module lacks calibration data or when calibration has not been carried out. The fault may remain after a module has been replaced until it has been calibrated.
Possible causes
- The fitted brake control module lacks calibration data
- Calibration of the brake control module has not been carried out
- Damaged brake control module
What you can do
- 1Clear the codes in the brake control module and check whether the code returns
- 2If the code returns, a workshop should replace the brake control module
- 3After fitting, the acceleration sensor and the internal sensors of the brake control module must be calibrated; have a workshop do this
- 4The brake system is safety critical: do not work on the brake control module or its calibration yourself, and have a workshop repair the fault
Symptoms you may notice5
- Information lamp on
- Anti-spin does not work
- ABS does not work or switches on suddenly
- Hill start assist does not work
- Forward monitoring and adaptive cruise control do not work
