Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module has registered an internal electrical fault in the part that drives the valve coil for control channel B, valve 2, in the hydraulic unit. The fault lies in the module and affects ABS, stability and traction control.
Possible causes
- Fault inside the brake control module (BCM)
What you can do
- 1Activate the hydraulic unit valves with diagnostic equipment; if no ticking sound is heard, the module has an internal fault
- 2Clear the code and road test; if it returns, a workshop should replace the brake control module
- 3After replacing the brake control module, programming and calibration are needed, as a new unit is supplied without software
- 4The brake system is safety critical: do not work on the brake control module yourself, and drive carefully until the fault is fixed
Symptoms you may notice5
- Anti-spin function does not work
- Anti-skid does not work
- Adaptive cruise control and forward monitoring do not work
- Yellow symbol and message in the display
- The brake pedal requires too much force
What the fault can affect3
- Anti-lock braking (ABS), traction control and stability control are disabled
- Dynamic stability control (AYC) is disabled
- Electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and brake assist are disabled
