Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
On the V60, the brake control module (BCM) has blocked use of the brake booster function. The booster is blocked either because it is too cold, or because too many test signals have been sent in a short time without it being activated correctly.
Possible causes
- Brake booster temperature too low, giving high friction
- Repeated test signals over an hour without the brake booster being activated correctly
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Leave the car for a while and then drive it so that the brake booster warms up before trying again
- 3If the fault remains at normal temperature, a workshop should read the code with diagnostic equipment
- 4The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the brake booster yourself, and let a workshop decide when the car is safe to drive
Symptoms you may notice4
- Traction control does not work
- Hill descent assist does not work
- Hill start assist does not work
- Front monitoring and adaptive cruise control do not work
