Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
On the V60, the brake control module (BCM) has received an erratic signal from the right rear wheel sensor during ABS regulation. The signal is incorrect and varies, so the module cannot assess the wheel's movement reliably. The fault most often lies in the sensor itself.
Possible causes
- Damaged right rear wheel sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the right rear wheel sensor is secure and undamaged, and that the tone wheel is complete
- 3Read the sensor with diagnostic equipment and replace it if it is damaged
- 4The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the ABS system yourself; leave this to a workshop, and drive carefully until the fault is fixed
Symptoms you may notice5
- ABS does not work or activates suddenly
- Anti-spin function does not work
- Hill descent assist does not work
- Hill start assist does not work
- Front monitoring and active safety do not work
