What does this fault code mean?
The brake pressure sensor has two built-in sensors: one measures brake pressure and the other measures brake pressure and temperature. The brake control module compares the two values, and when the signals do not agree, the code is set. The fault most often lies in the sensor.
Possible causes
- Damaged pressure sensor
- Internal fault in the brake control module
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Make sure the brake fluid is free from air and that the brake pedal feels normal
- 3Read the brake pressure with diagnostic equipment while the pedal is pressed. The fault may be temporary if the values agree on a new test
- 4If the fault remains, the sensor or brake control module needs replacing by a workshop, and the internal sensors must be calibrated afterwards
- 5The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the braking system or sensor yourself; leave this to a workshop, and drive carefully until the fault is fixed

- Anti-spin indication shows a fault or no indication
- Traction control does not work
- Stability function does not work
- Adaptive cruise control and collision warning do not work
- Electronic parking brake has reduced function
