What does this fault code mean?
The longitudinal acceleration sensor, which sits in the stability sensor, has a correction value for its individual deviation that the brake control module judges to be unreasonable. The fault most often lies in how the stability sensor is fitted, not in the brake control module.
Possible causes
- Stability sensor incorrectly fitted
- Loose stability sensor
- Bent bracket for the stability sensor
- Internal fault in the stability sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the stability sensor is secure and correctly fitted, and that the bracket is not bent
- 3Have a workshop check the sensor calibration with diagnostic equipment
- 4Read the codes in the other modules too, as this code can be a knock-on effect of a fault in another module
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, the stability sensor needs replacing by a workshop. The braking system is safety critical, so do not work on it yourself
Symptoms you may notice5
- Anti-spin function does not work
- Stability function does not work
- Cruise control will not engage
- Front monitoring and active safety do not work
- Brake pedal requires more force than normal
What the fault can affect2
- Traction control and stability control can be disabled
- Active yaw control (AYC) is blocked
