What does this fault code mean?
On the V40, the brake control module (BCM) has found that the longitudinal acceleration sensor, which is located in the airbag control module, is incorrectly positioned. The airbag control module has come loose, so the sensor's measurements are wrong.
Possible causes
- Airbag control module has come loose
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Have a workshop check that the airbag control module is securely fixed and that its mounting is intact
- 3Look for faults in the airbag system with diagnostic equipment
- 4The airbag and braking system are safety critical: do not work on the airbag control module or braking system yourself; leave this to a workshop
