What does this fault code mean?
On cars with roll stability control (RSC), the brake control module (BCM) receives information about the car's movement from the stability sensor, including the roll rate. If the sensor has an internal fault, roll control and other stability functions are blocked.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the stability sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Read the sensor status with diagnostic equipment
- 3If the fault remains, the stability sensor needs replacing by a workshop. The brake control module is normally not the fault
- 4The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the stability sensor or braking system yourself; leave this to a workshop, and drive carefully until the fault is fixed
Symptoms you may notice5
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
- Anti-spin and anti-skid indication shows a fault or no indication
- Stability function does not work
- Anti-spin function does not work
- Cruise control will not engage
What the fault can affect3
- Traction control and stability control can be disabled
- Active yaw control (AYC) is blocked
- Roll control (RSC) is blocked
