What does this fault code mean?
The stability sensor has sent a message to the brake control module that it has an internal fault in its safety function. The stability functions are switched off until the fault is fixed.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the stability sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Read the stability sensor with diagnostic equipment and replace it if the fault remains
- 3The brake control module is normally not the fault, so it should not be replaced first
- 4The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the stability sensor or braking system yourself; leave this to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice5
- Anti-spin indicator lit
- Stability function does not work
- Traction control does not work
- Anti-skid function does not work
- Adaptive cruise control and collision warning do not work
What the fault can affect1
- Traction control, stability control and dynamic stability control (AYC) are blocked
