BCM-C007864 - Tire diameter. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal plausibility failure
System
Brake Control Module (BCM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
8 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) has found that the rolling circumference differs too much between the wheels. This suggests that one wheel or tyre has the wrong size, or that one or more tyres are unevenly worn. The indirect tyre pressure monitoring cannot rely on its calculations and is switched off.
Possible causes
- A wheel of the wrong size has been fitted to the car
- One or more of the car's tyres are too worn
What you can do
- 1Check that all four wheels are the same size and that no spare wheel or winter tyre is a different size
- 2Check the tyre wear, and that the tyres on the same axle are of the same type and wear
- 3Check the air pressure in all tyres
- 4Do not replace the brake control module, as it is normally not the fault. Once the fault is fixed, drive the car for a while so the system can recalibrate
- 5The brakes work, but drive carefully until the fault is fixed as the assistance systems may be disabled
Symptoms you may notice2
- Tyre pressure monitoring shows a fault or no indication
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
What the fault can affect1
- Indirect tyre pressure monitoring (iTPMS) is switched off
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
