What does this fault code mean?
The module has logged a fault in its supervision software, which checks that the software itself works. ABS and several stability functions are blocked until the fault is fixed, and it is most often fixed by giving the module the correct software.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the software
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, and check that the battery is in good condition, as voltage problems can affect the software
- 2Have a workshop reprogram the brake control module with the latest software and check the function afterwards
- 3Clear the code only after the update, then road test the car to see whether it returns
- 4The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the programming or the braking system yourself; leave this to a workshop, and drive carefully until the fault is fixed

- ABS warning lamp on
- Brake circuit has failed and the warning lamp is on
- Anti-spin warning lamp on
- ABS does not work
- Adaptive cruise control and collision warning do not work

- Anti-lock braking and brake force distribution are blocked
- Traction control, stability control and dynamic stability control (AYC) are blocked
