What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) has checked the calibration values it stores for the stability sensor and the airbag control module, and the checksum does not match. This often happens when one of these modules has been replaced, and the stability functions are then blocked until the brake control module has been calibrated.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the brake control module
- Brake control module not calibrated
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop calibrate the brake control module with diagnostic equipment. This is especially needed after replacing the stability sensor or the airbag control module
- 2Road test the car and check that the code no longer appears
- 3If the code status is still permanent after calibration, the stability sensor needs checking, and the workshop replaces it if needed
- 4The braking system is safety critical: do not carry out the calibration or work on the braking system yourself; leave this to a workshop

- Anti-spin and anti-skid indication shows a fault or no indication
- Stability function does not work
- Adaptive cruise control and collision warning do not work
- Cruise control will not engage
- Traction control does not work
