BCM-C100A64 - Brake Pedal Angle Sensor. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal plausibility failure

Applies to the following models:

Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
On the V60, the brake control module (BCM) has judged the signal from the brake pedal angle sensor to be implausible, because the pressure in the shut-off unit is too high when the pedal only moves a little. The fault may lie in the sensor, in the shut-off unit's pressure sensor or in its valve.
Possible causes
- Brake pedal angle sensor signal too weak
- Pressure sensor signal from the shut-off unit too strong
- Valve in the shut-off unit closed incorrectly
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Look for damage in the wiring to the brake pedal angle sensor, to the shut-off unit's pressure sensor and to its valve
- 3Check the shut-off unit's valve and sensor with diagnostic equipment. If the fault remains, the workshop replaces the brake pedal sensor
- 4The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the brake pedal sensor or the shut-off unit yourself; leave this to a workshop, and drive carefully until the fault is fixed
Symptoms you may notice4
- Anti-spin function does not work
- Hill descent assist does not work
- Hill start assist does not work
- Front monitoring and adaptive cruise control do not work
