What does this fault code mean?
On the V60, the brake control module (BCM) received an incorrect signal from the pressure sensor in the cut-off unit, which belongs to the brake pedal feel simulator, at start-up. The signal is checked when the car is started, and the fault may have been temporary, but the connector and wiring should still be checked.
Possible causes
- Damaged wiring to the cut-off unit
- Faulty plug contact at the cut-off unit's pressure sensor
- Damaged pressure sensor in the cut-off unit
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Look for damage in the wiring to the cut-off unit and in the connector at the pressure sensor
- 3Check the pressure sensor with diagnostic equipment and replace it if damaged
- 4The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the cut-off unit or brake pedal yourself; leave this to a workshop, and drive carefully until the fault is fixed
Symptoms you may notice3
- Anti-spin function does not work
- Hill descent assist does not work
- Front monitoring and adaptive cruise control do not work
