What does this fault code mean?
On the V60, the brake control module (BCM) has noticed that the pressure sensor in the cut-off unit gives too low a signal during braking, while the pedal position corresponds to a lower braking torque than expected. The fault may lie in the cut-off unit or in the brake pedal angle sensor.
Possible causes
- Faulty cut-off unit
- The pedal angle sensor sends a wrong reading
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Look for damage in the wiring to the brake pedal angle sensor and to the cut-off unit's pressure sensor
- 3Check the cut-off unit and the angle sensor with diagnostic equipment
- 4If the fault remains, the brake pedal or cut-off unit needs replacing by a workshop. The braking system is safety critical, so do not work on it yourself
Symptoms you may notice3
- Anti-spin function does not work
- Hill descent assist does not work
- Front monitoring and adaptive cruise control do not work
