Applies to the following models:

Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
On the V60, the brake control module (BCM) monitors the electric vacuum pump through a vacuum sensor in the brake booster. The vacuum builds up too slowly, which is most often due to a leak in the vacuum system or a weak vacuum pump.
Possible causes
- Leak in the vacuum system
- Damaged vacuum pump
What you can do
- 1Check the fuse and the electrical connection to the vacuum pump
- 2Check the vacuum hoses and their connections for leaks, and listen for a hissing sound with the engine running
- 3Have a workshop check the vacuum pump and replace it if the fault remains
- 4The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the brake booster or vacuum pump yourself; leave this to a workshop
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
